Pay Rate: £35,000
Grade: NContract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday, 06.00 - 14.00.
Location: Daventry, NN6 7GW

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport First Line manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

• Duty Manager for transport operations with responsibiltiy for ensuring all O Licence commitments are met and compliance is 100% accurate. All vehicles held under the O Licence to be compliant with any defects rectified in a timely manner.
• Responsible for managing drivers and mates ensuring everyone has the required training and tools to complete their role successfully, remaining compliant at all times. Monitor and drive individual and site performance ensuring processes are adhered to and Contractual KPI's are met.
• Maintain service schedules and ensure all O licence commitments are met, action all defects immediately following the correct process and ensure any VOR vehicles are kept off the road until rectified.
• Coordinate staff training - identify needs of drivers and mates to ensure all employees are trained to use all tools/equipment and vehicles within their remit.
• Allocate crews to home delivery routes and book Agency as required.
• People managing a team of circa x25 and fleet size of circa x15.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Previous and practical experience as a Transport Supervisor or Team Leader within a logistics environment.
• Knowledge of Working Time Legislation & EU driving legislation.
• Strong influencing skills.
• Computer literate, with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages such as Key 2 and Tachomaster desired.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to supervise, organise and train direct reports.
• International CPC desirable but not essential.
