Transport First Line Manager based Stoke on Trent
Pay Rate: £34,682 based on an average 40 hour week
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Rotational (06:00-18:00 / 18:00-06:00 and 10:00-22:00) - includes some weekend working
Location: Stoke on Trent - ST4 2TP
Shift pattern:
Week 1 - Mon, Tues, Fri 06:00-18:00 and Sat 06:00-14:00
Week 2 - Sun 06:00-18:00 and Wed and Thurs 18:00-06:00
Week 3 - Mon, Tues, Fri 10:00-22:00 and Sat 12:00-20:00
Week 4 - Sun 18:00-06:00 and Wed and Thurs 10:00-22:00
DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Supervisor / FLM to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
- To manage a team of 15-20 drivers and admin staff whilst on shift
- Responsible for the execution of transport plans ensuring transport and network SLA's/KPI's are achieved
- FLM's are front and centre of the transport operation demonstrating 21st century driver engagement and management
- Ensuring the wellbeing, performance and motivation of their team through regular performance dialogues, scheduled 1-2-1's as well as ad-hoc communication and engagement
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU
- Previous and practical experience as a Transport Supervisor or Team Leader within a logistics environment
- Experience in the hands on operation in a transport environment. Experience on chilled and frozen distribution would be an advantage
- Previous experience of the preparation and distribution of volume orders
- Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to supervise, organise and train direct reports
- A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received
- Live locally to Stoke on Trent ST4 2TP
