Role Summary
As the Transition Manager, you will support KDN Transformation Director and KDN AE&I lead in managing the transition process for new business ventures, acquisitions, or organisational changes. This role involves strategic planning, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring seamless integration of processes and systems to achieve business objectives. In your role, you will lead initiatives to drive efficiency, minimise disruptions, and optimise outcomes during the transition period. You will provide leadership and guidance to project managers and teams while managing stakeholder relationships and communication throughout the transition.
How you will make your mark
• Strategic Planning:
o Develop and execute comprehensive transition plans aligned with the KDN's strategic goals.
o Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth transitions.
• Project Management:
o Lead and manage transition projects from initiation through completion.
o Coordinate cross-functional teams, including HR, IT, Finance, Operations, and Legal.
o Establish timelines, milestones, and deliverables to track progress and ensure timely completion.
• Transition Management:
o Develop a transition plan outlining the steps, timelines, and responsibilities for transitioning operations.
o Coordinate closely with relevant teams to ensure alignment and minimize disruptions to ongoing operations.
• Change Management:
o Implement change management strategies to support colleagues and stakeholders during transitions.
o Communicate effectively to ensure understanding and buy-in from all affected parties.
o Provide training and support to staff to facilitate adaptation to new processes and systems.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
o Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders throughout the transition process.
o Maintain open lines of communication and provide regular updates on transition progress.
o Gather feedback and address concerns to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
• Resource Management:
o Identify and allocate necessary resources (personnel, technology, budget) to support transition activities.
o Manage budgets and ensure cost-effective execution of transition plans.
• Performance Monitoring:
o Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of transition initiatives.
o Conduct post-transition reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
o Report on transition outcomes and provide recommendations for future transitions.
• Continuous Improvement:
o Implement best practices and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance transition processes.
o Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate relevant innovations into transition strategies.
This is the job for you if you have
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• A large amount of experience in transition management, or a similar role, with a significant focus on acquisitions, enablement, and integration projects.
• Strong project management skills with proven track record of managing large-scale IT transitions, including systems integration, service migration, and organisational change initiatives.
• Experience in managing phased global transitions, ensuring operational readiness, and leading cross-functional teams.
• Expertise in change management, including the ability to manage organizational change and mitigate resistance.
• Experience in stakeholder management and engagement during transitions.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
• Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans for successful transitions.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex, ambiguous situations.
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong analytical skills to assess risks, monitor progress, and evaluate the success of transition initiatives.
• Ability to use data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
• High attention to detail to ensure thorough planning and execution of transition activities.
• Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
