At Virgin Atlantic Airways, we believe everyone can take on the world, and it's our vision to become the most loved travel company. Within Virgin Atlantic Holidays, our Commercial teams play a critical role in translating strategy into performance - balancing pricing agility, customer value and margin delivery to drive sustainable growth.
In a nutshell
As Trading Manager, you are the commercial owner of your region's performance. You are accountable for delivering revenue and margin targets, setting the trading direction, and ensuring strategy is translated into decisive, margin-positive action.
You will define and evolve regional pricing and trading strategy, lead performance forums, and identify structural opportunities to improve results, not just respond to them. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will balance short-term performance optimisation with longer-term commercial priorities. You will bring structure, governance and disciplined performance management to your region, ensuring trading decisions are commercially robust and aligned to long-term growth ambition.
Working closely with your Trading Analyst, Product, Sales and Airline counterparts, you will set analytical priorities, provide clear commercial direction and approve trading recommendations to ensure every action drives measurable impact across the full booking curve.
Day to day
As a Trading Manager, you will:
- Own the end-to-end commercial performance of your region, with full accountability for revenue and margin delivery
- Act decisively on booking trends, competitor activity and market signals to optimise performance
- Lead weekly regional trading reviews, setting direction, driving challenge and ensuring clear actions and accountability
- Lead and direct Trading Analyst activity for your region, defining analytical focus areas and signing off trading recommendations
- Proactively identify new revenue opportunities and commercial levers to exceed targets
- Work alongside Product, Sales and Airline stakeholders to align pricing and trading strategies
- Identify and manage promotional and ad-hoc commercial opportunities while protecting margin integrity
- Contribute to commercial planning, forecasting and budgeting
About you
We're looking for a commercially accountable leader who is confident owning performance, setting direction and making decisions at pace.
- Demonstrated experience delivering commercial or financial performance outcomes
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to translate data and market insight into clear, decisive actions
- Experience working with performance dashboards or commercial reporting tools to inform decision-making
- Ability to lead cross-functional discussions, challenge constructively and secure alignment
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
- Collaborative mindset with the confidence to influence across Product, Sales and Airline teams
If this sounds like the right next step for you, we'd love to hear from you.
