JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The role is responsible for reporting to the Fleet Planning Lead, the TMDE and AGE Coordinator will act as the main point of focus for all matters concerning TMDE and AGE. You will be responsible for ensuring that all Maintenance departments, whether in the control of PC or RSAF, have sufficient availability of TMDE and AGE in accordance with published Key Performance Indicators, that is serviceable and within calibration. Organising the collection of equipment in to and out from user sections (PC and RSAF), as dictated by scheduled and unscheduled maintenance need, and its return from same. You will also be responsible for ensuring that any issues affecting TMDE and AGE availability is addressed promptly and escalated through the appropriate medium where required.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • You will form strong relationships at Superintendent level, internally with the TMSC Fleet Operations Centre, Powered and Non-Powered Support Equipment Sections and externally with RSAF Maintenance Operations Flight and the MetCal department. Through interface with these agencies, he will determine the priorities with which items of TMDE and AGE need to be handled so that the Operation of the RSAF fleet of Tornado is not compromised.
  • You will maintain a Visual Management system, with which to provide comprehensive awareness of TMDE and AGE asset status, and also utilise the RSAF TMDE awareness program (currently Fluke Portal).
  • Assist the Technical Services Specialist (METCAL) and Technical Services Lead (AGE) by providing them with regular status updates of the TMDE and AGE inventory.
  • Ensure TMDE and AGE are maintained and managed effectively by Owning Work Centres, informing the Fleet Specialist where this is not the case.
  • Prepare contributions for, and attend, the twice-yearly MetCal Review Meetings (MRM) and Aerospace Ground Equipment Work Shop (AGEWS).

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

  • Minimum of a recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
  • Have extensive proven experience in a relevant role, or extensive proven experience in a relevant (CA or maintenance-related) role.
  • Have extensive experience in a relevant management role.
  • Demonstrate a familiar level of ability to control METCAL and AGE assets.
  • Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of personnel.
  • Computer literate with a sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Capable of working independently, or as part of a team, under pressure and to tight operational timescales.
  • Must be well organised with an eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Demonstrate a familiar level of knowledge of continuing airworthiness and aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and support the decision-making process at all levels.
  • Experience of multi-tasking to manage a wide range of activities at differing levels of maturity.

Desirable

  • Formal training in METCAL/AGE Management
  • To be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels
