The Role

Test Analyst

Location: Derby

Contract: Permanent

We are looking for an experienced test analyst to join our talented and innovative IT team. Our IT team members are creative and passionate, providing invaluable support to ensure our commercial projects are delivered to the highest standard. As we look to grow and mature our test capabilities - including moving more into automation of the test process where possible - we are looking for enthusiastic, proactive test analysts with an interest in shaping the team to be a "best of breed" example.

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to demonstrate their skills in assisting with the further development, maintenance, and implementation of the systems in a fast paced, growing organisation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the success of the next generation of the Motorpoint platform as we look to leverage the best the market has to offer alongside the software produced by our in-house teams.

What will you be getting up to?

  • Continuing new development of applications within the Motorpoint ecosystem
  • Building on the Motorpoint integration platform to leverage the power of third-party integrations
  • Transferring functionality from Legacy systems to new platforms
  • Actively participating in SCRUM process
  • Identifying innovation and solutions for business requirements
  • Building close working relationships with teams outside of IT
  • Working closely with IT leadership to implement the business vision and multi-year plan.

What do we need from you?

  • At least 3 years' experience testing both internal and public facing web applications with some exposure to windows forms applications
  • ISTQB or ISEB certifications
  • Writing and maintaining test scripts for various product features including regression packs
  • At least 2 years commercial experience working with web applications
  • Manual test execution using Azure DevOps / Team Foundation Server
  • Experience of working with third party integrations
  • Experience with the following technology and tools:
    • RESTFul Api testing experience using tooling such as Postman
    • SQL data verification
    • Winforms applications
    • Web applications
  • Experience of working in Agile environments

Desirable skills

  • Experience of automation test platforms
  • Experience with:
    • C#.
    • .Net Core
    • Selunium
    • Specflow
    • xUnit
  • An awareness of event driven ecosystems
  • An awareness of cloud-based development platforms (such as Amazon Web Services).

  • A willingness to learn and push the boundaries of their own knowledge and the technology available

  • The confidence to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to establish excellent working relationships with the existing IT team and across the wider business
