Job Description
In the role of a Territory Sales Manager you will be driving sales within independent retail wholesale and trade stores and customers with Sherwin-Williams products. This role covers Cheshire, North Wales and Shropshire and the ideal candidate will live within this territory. Responsibilities
- Achieve assigned territory sales revenue and distribution targets within the independent retail, wholesale, trade and other customer sectors.
- Accountability of gross margin maintenance by monitoring product mix, pricing, discounting and other profit related metrics in the control of the Territory Sales Manager.
- Accountability to achieve targets set on key selling initiatives set by the business, such as Pre Season and quarterly Drive to Thrive campaigns.
- Achieve assigned territory EPOS targets set by the business.
- Align with National and Key Account Manager objectives in relevant accounts to fulfill support and sales requirements.
- Ensure that Buying Group and Wholesaler contact strategies are followed and adhered to.
- Partner with external Wholesaler reps to drive sales in indirect customers.
- Build effective relationships with the internal team (Commercial Finance, Sales Support, National Accounts, Sales Effectiveness Team)
- Use relevant data provided by the business to analyse territory performance and identify opportunities and actions by account.
- Ensure effective use of selling time by using Salesforce.com to plan account visits on assigned territory. Ensure that required number of calls per day is adhered to and all information on the system is completed and up to date.
- Provide category expertise to all customers by using relevant market data and insights to drive category sales.
- Display and merchandise Sherwin Williams products in all outlets to required company standards.
- Participate in relevant trade shows and customer events.
Qualifications
- Strong, demonstrable negotiation skills
- Category expertise and merchandising skills.
- Excellent communicator across written, presentation and verbal types of communication.
- Knowledge of the DIY & TRADE industry whilst of benefit is not essential.
- Experience of selling in a B2B environment is preferred.
- Experience of working in a field-based role is preferred.
- Excellent analytical excel skills.
- Good understanding and experience of using Salesforce.com CRM system.
- Full, clean driving license and the ability to stay overnight on occasion when needed for conferences and training
