- Temporary for 3 months
This position is open to current Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) staff only.
Note: Swiftwater Rescue Technician (SRT) and Advanced Working at Height (AWAH) are mandatory required skillsets for this position.
A temporary Crew Manager vacancy has become available at the Lowestoft South Station. The vacancy is expected to be for 3 months in the first instance and will be reviewed 4-weekly.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service are looking to fill this vacancy with a motivated and committed individual who can demonstrate strong organisational values in line with SCC and SFRS.
Applications are invited from interested candidates eligible for temporary promotion to Crew Manager in line with the SFRS Service Progression Document (SPD). In your statement, please state your current PDR placement and explain how you are eligible to apply for this position. Including details around your Swiftwater Rescue Technician (SRT) and Advanced Working at Height (AWAH) skillset.
- Question 1: Please describe how you have organised and supervised the delivery of required training to those under your supervision, including risk critical and modular training to ensure development toward competency or the maintenance of competency.
- Question 2: Please explain a time when you have been required to manage either absence or team effectiveness. Include any guidance you sought and/or any support you provided.
- Question 3: Can you explain a time when you have needed to Lead, motivate, and support an individual or team.
- Question 4: Can you describe a time when you have had to prioritise requests or apply flexibility to meet our key performance indicators (KPI's) within response.
