About Us: Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is seeking a motivated and committed individual to fill a temporary Station Manager vacancy within the Response Department, North District. The position is expected to last up to 3 months initially, subject to monthly review.
Role Overview: As a Station Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective emergency response operations. You'll need to demonstrate strong organisational values aligned with SFRS and Suffolk County Council (SCC).
The temporary vacancy will also include the successful candidate being nominated for an Incident Command Level 2 qualification (if they currently do not hold the qualification)
Flexi rota requirements will be subject to the service need.
Successful candidates with be shortlisted for interview.

In your statement, please state your current PDR placement and explain how you are eligible to apply for this position.
- Describe how you would ensure operational readiness and availability at fire stations. Provide examples of your leadership in maintaining and monitoring standards.
- Explain how your personal values align with our WeAspire values. Share a specific example from your current role how you have demonstrated this.
- Describe and give examples of how you have or would monitor and set the service standards ensuring the highest levels of performance. Support the mentoring and development of staff including the identification of training needs in line with service policy.
- Provide examples of how you would utilise performance management to ensure that Response's key performance measures are being met and maintained.
- Share your understanding of EDI and how you'd promote fairness and the NFCC Core Code of Ethics in the role of a Station Manager. Provide examples where you have done this.
