Technology Solutions Manager

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000
Location: Harlow with Hybrid working available, 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home per week.
About the role

As the Technology Solutions Manager, you will evaluate request and requirements received from within IT and the wider organisation and identify suitable options to meet these. Through gaining a detailed understanding of how the current systems operate and reviewing the known and emerging requirements of the foundations teams, you will map out where the gaps exist in the technology capability to meet these. In this role you will define and assert a set of core design principals that when applied will ensure solutions meet the organisations current and future needs. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that existing and future IT solutions are aligned to plans of the foundation.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead discussion, develop and maintain an organisation wide technology systems strategy to support the foundations core IT activities.
  • Manage key stakeholder discussions regarding renewal, replacement, or provision of new technical solutions aligned to the organisation and IT strategic objectives.
  • Define the roadmap for systems supporting data, ensuring changes are aligned to meet the joint business and technology strategies.
  • Manage documentation for all IT solutions in accordance with best practice in terms of delivering the key artefacts as part of the IT solutions.
  • Champion the right strategic choices in terms of technology solutions, acting as the subject matter expert in IT solutions.
  • Maintain appropriate Enterprise Architecture artefacts including systems diagrams, Entity Relationship Models, asset registers to aid support, change planning and traceability.
  • Lead the technical oversight to business-driven solutions adhering to the enterprise architecture and data governance standards.
  • Manage key delivery partners to ensure that solutions are compliant with the foundations design principals, and core values.

A strong team player, sharing views, knowledge, and information, contribute to team initiatives and team meetings, helping others, and treating everyone fairly and with respect.

Your experience

Must haves:

  • Certified in ITIL Expert.
  • TOGAF 9 certified.
  • Experience of architecting solutions across hybrid cloud and on-premises data platforms.
  • Excellent problem solving and modelling skills (logical, physical, semantic and integration models)
  • Experience of mapping key Enterprise data entities to business capabilities and applications.

Nice to haves:

  • Computer science degree.
  • Six Sigma / Lean.

Reporting lines and relationships

Reports to: Head of IT & Change.

Key relationships: IT Operations & Support, Motability Directors, IT Security Manager, Heads of Department and Managers. Third party suppliers.

Direct reports: None.

Extra Information

  • Job holder will be required to contribute to the identification and profiling of data related business risks.
  • Requires frequent contact with managers and users throughout the Motability Foundation and the ability to communicate potentially complex and/or technical issues with staff in non-technical terms.
  • The role is predominantly based In Harlow, Essex at Motability's offices. Some travel may be required for training and off-site meetings. Hybrid working from home will also factor in the role.
