Job Summary: As a Technology Product Manager for Finance, you will play a key role in owning the entire technology product solutions that support one of Beazley's core value streams, Corporate Functions. You will act as the primary technology partner for Finance, translating business needs into actionable product roadmaps and driving the successful value delivery through incremental and transformational change.
You will partner closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and global technology teams to ensure that platforms and systems within Finance are reliable, well supported, and continuously improved. You will lead delivery activity through strong collaboration with offshore development partners and technology vendors, ensuring work aligns to agreed priorities, quality standards, and timelines. -supported, and continuously improved.
Your role will support Beazley's strategic ambitions of simplification, modernisation, and growth by ensuring the technology products in Finance deliver measurable value and support efficient business operations.
We seek a highly capable technology professional with experience delivering solutions for speciality insurance underwriting within a complex, globally regulated insurance environment, particularly across all Finance functions, who can build strong partnerships across business and technology teams and drive high quality outcomes in a global enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Planning
- Shape and execute the technology delivery strategy and roadmap for the Finance portfolio, aligned with Beazley's modernisation and growth objectives.
- Drive prioritisation of initiatives and investments in collaboration with business leaders and SMEs to maximise value and accelerate transformation.
- Though close collaboration with business leaders, translate business requirements into technical specifications, upholding a user-centric approach in design and feature integration
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and relay feedback that informs and continuously improves product development.
- In collaboration with IT leadership, champion innovation and emerging technologies, assessing impact and recommending adoption to strengthen competitive advantage.
- Acting as the Agile Release Train Engineer to Lead quarterly portfolio PI planning events, ensuring cross stakeholder agreement and effective cross portfolio execution.
Delivery Management
- Drive end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives within the Finance portfolio, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Champion agile and DevSecOps practices to accelerate delivery, strengthen resilience, and enhance customer experience.
- Own backlog governance and prioritisation, enabling effective sprint planning and seamless coordination of cross-team dependencies. Oversee feature acceptance and defect prioritisation
- Foster strong partnerships with vendors and service providers, ensuring contractual compliance and maximising value from external engagements.
- Oversee Finance portfolio systems governance, availability, performance, and capacity across production and non-production environments.
- Represent Finance portfolio systems during incident triage and major incidents, providing technical leadership and safeguarding business continuity.
Information Security and Compliance
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Finance systems through robust security measures and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with IT leadership, legal and compliance teams to address IT-related issues and maintain governance frameworks.
- Implement and maintain appropriate IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures related to Finance systems and data processing.
Finance and Vendor Management
- Contribute to management of annual plans and budgets aligned to business strategies.
- Optimise cost efficiency across technology delivery, vendor contracts, and resource allocation.

Person Specification:
Essential Criteria
- Must have proven product management experience in technology delivery within Finance for a Specialty Commercial Lines insurer, with a deep understanding of premium accounting, expense allocations, chart of accounts, GL, AR and AP processes, multi-entity/multi-country environments, Tax, billing and collections, credit control.
- Must have an awareness and understanding of IFRS17, Solvency II, financial planning and analysis, reserving, deductibles, regulatory and statutory reporting (Ideally Treasury).
- Must have strong experience managing a complex portfolio with multiple suppliers and global teams.
- Must have knowledge and experience in Workday, Agresso, Payment systems (e.g. FIS, Swift)
- Must have expertise in Finance data modelling, data lineage, reconciliation, integrity and auditability, ETL mechanisms and API based integrations with policy admin and claims systems.
Preferred Education and Qualifications
- Data Literacy (SQL, BI Tools, data modelling)
- University degree or equivalent experience.
- Certifications in Agile Leadership, Scrum Master, ITIL, or Project Management desirable.
Knowledge and Experience
- Must have proven product management experience in technology delivery within Finance for a Specialty Commercial Lines insurer, with a deep understanding of premium accounting, expense allocations, chart of accounts, GL, AR and AP processes, multi-entity/multi-country environments, Tax, billing and collections, credit control.
- Must have an awareness and understanding of IFRS17, Solvency II, financial planning and analysis, reserving, deductibles, regulatory and statutory reporting (Ideally Treasury).
- Must have strong experience managing a complex portfolio with multiple suppliers and global teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage IT and non-IT projects with demonstrated delivery of business value and pursuit of quality
- Proven experience delivering IT change using a mix of internal resources, third-party solutions, and outsourced services.
- Guide and manage stakeholder expectations with respect to full product lifecycle (forecasting, estimating, planning, progress and metrics)
- Experience acting as the voice of the customer through translating user needs into clear requirements, using continuous discovery and data-driven insights to guide prioritisation
- Experienced change manager, able to understand and advise on how to implement process, IT changes while minimising the IT and related business change delivery risks
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and expertise in General ledger, sub-ledger and insurance-specific finance systems, reconciliation and reporting tools, planning and forecasting systems, expense management, workflow and approvals, billing and credit control systems and tools.
- Must have knowledge and experience in Workday, Agresso, Payment systems (e.g. FIS, Swift)
- Must have expertise in Finance data modelling, data lineage, reconciliation, integrity and auditability, ETL mechanisms and API based integrations with policy admin and claims systems.
