What You'll do

We're looking for a dynamic Portfolio Manager to join our Technology Hub in London or Newbury HQ, bringing with you a broad range of experiences and a passion for lean programme governance and modern engineering technologies and practices.

Focused on customer experience, margin improvement and speed to market, you will take these priorities into Technology and lead your portfolio to support these business goals. You will do this with a multi million pound spend, across 15+ concurrent project deliveries. This role represents the strategic leadership and trusted partnership with the Consumer Business line for their entire Technology product roadmap.

Main responsibilites:

  • Ensure partner resource is set up and controlled in an effective way to deliver on the portfolio roadmap
  • Lead the successful delivery of multiple sub-portfolios and programmes.
  • Work closely with Product/Portfolio owners at E Band and Director level to report on and plan effectively the delivery of their transformational portfolios
  • Compiling & owning the Technology Programme roadmap, bringing together plans across multiple project streams into one overall perspective.
  • Governing portfolios in line with Digital's SAFe ways of working and Technology's VPDL framework.
  • Embedding and transforming the portfolio team to implement lean governance operating models, valuing ownership, responsiveness, predictability and transparent delivery over pre-prepared project reporting.
  • Set and adjust budgets within the programme, based on business dynamics and historical trends of delivery.
  • Establishing a heartbeat of reviews and reporting.
  • Governing our use of Azure DevOps, providing effective and consistent usage, including dashboards, plans & roadmaps.

Who you are

  • A proven track record leading large technical delivery teams with an in-depth understanding of the technologies, processes and techniques required for delivering high quality solutions within a fast moving organisation.
  • A deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle including multiple delivery methodologies with the ability to mentor, motivate and shape high performing teams
  • Extensive experience in liaising with senior-level stakeholders and delivering successful change initiatives.
  • Proven experience of leadership and delivery in Technology, ideally with mobile & web platform experience
  • Ideally experience delivering in both Waterfall and Scaled Agile environments.
  • You're a strong all-rounder, willing to get involved in every stage of the software development lifecycle
  • An enthusiastic interest in modern development practice, tooling, technology and techniques.
  • Ability to grow, coach, and lead a team of people helping them to realise their potential and creating the right environment for them to thrive.
