The team

Schroders is embarking on an ambitious transformation journey to profitable growth and technology plays a significant role in the realisation of this vision. The Global Technology (GT) Transformation, Change and Governance (TCG) team is at the heart of this for Technology, orchestrating across GT to deliver GT's target operating model and ensures GT's strategy and delivery portfolio aligns with the overall Group strategy and priorities. TCG spans three core areas - Technology Portfolio & Planning, Technology Vendor Oversight and Technology Performance & Governance.

The Portfolio & Planning team is embedded across GT's domains and partners with Domain Delivery Heads and their teams to oversee portfolio delivery, optimise demand vs capacity and sequencing and, ultimately, drive delivery of the portfolio to realise stated benefits.

The Vendor Oversight team is responsible for GT's Vendor Management and Oversight framework, building productive partnerships to derive value, compliance, cost control and risk mitigation across all GT's third-party suppliers.

The Technology Performance and Governance team empowers GT's leadership team through effective governance, actionable insights, and proactive oversight, enabling informed decisions that drive our technology strategy.

What you will do

This is a dual-focused position, combining deep expertise in core governance capabilities with hands-on implementation within GT domains. The role is responsible for ensuring cross-GT consistency and the effective application of the GTPG governance framework at a domain level. You will support the financial and resource management of Global Technology by tracking budgets, maintaining accurate forecasts, ensuring compliance, and identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies. Working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, you will help drive process improvements, monitor progress against strategic targets, and support risk and policy adherence to ensure effective business operations.

Responsibilities of the Role

Cost Management:

  • Support the preparation, monitoring, and tracking of the Global Technology budget and ensure financial approval against budgetary spend.
  • Maintain forecasts for external costs through to year-end, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Interpretation of cost information and identification of key issues to ensure there are appropriate controls, measures, and mitigation plans in place.
  • TCO (Steel) service cost and allocation driver alignment across Global Technology domains.
  • Identify savings and cost efficiencies opportunities across Global Technology domains.
  • Assist in promoting transparency and control across IT account line management.

Performance Management

  • Develop metric-based reporting across key performance indicators within Technology domains,
  • Coordinate the collation and data gathering for the GT performance scorecard dashboard.
  • Identify new areas of measurement which can aid GT's governance and decision making.

Resource Management:

  • Support the management of headcount processes, including approvals and tracking.
  • Partner with GT domains to drive effective resource governance across their internal and external resources.
  • Ensure compliance of external resources with Statement of Work (SoW), Purchase Order (PO), and resource forecasting requirements.
  • Assist on target operating model Technology reorganisation requirements.

Efficiency & Risk Management:

  • Coordinate and monitor aspects of daily business operations and support efforts to improve operating procedures.
  • Conduct basic analysis to identify opportunities for operational process improvement.
  • Support the Head of GT Performance & Governance and the head of GT Transformation, Change & Governance in the identification and delivery of efficiency targets and commitments.
  • Track progress against Technology strategy, transformation targets, ensuring up-to-date visibility for leadership.
  • Maintain awareness of group policy adherence and mandatory training requirements, supporting compliance tracking.

The Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications You Need

  • Proven background in technology or operational governance, with strong experience in financial and resource control.
  • Advanced capability in data integration and performance reporting.
  • Experience implementing governance frameworks and processes across complex organisations or domains.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to partner effectively across different business areas.
