Enterprise-Wide Technology (EWT)

EWT is the UK Firm's internal technology division and is accountable for delivering a range of services to the UK Firm. Taking a holistic approach, this includes gathering requirements, solution design, build and run and the execution of complex change portfolios focused on security, data, core infrastructure and business applications.

Overview of the Position / Key Responsibilities

The Vendor Management team is part of the Technology Business Management function within Enterprise-Wide Technology (EWT) reporting to the Commercial & Vendor Management Lead.

The team is responsible for the day-to-day commercial, contract and budget management of EWT major Tier 1 and 2 Vendors including key Managed Services Outsourcing contracts and Software deals. The team works closely with the EWT Senior Leadership and IT Procurement Teams, inputting into the overall IT Sourcing strategy which underpins EWT and KPMG Business Strategy .

The EWT Senior Vendor Manager will play a pivotal role in driving value, innovation and delivery assurance to realise the commercial strategy and financial control with our key vendors.

The role will be a key interface between the EWT Service Ops and Platform Engineering teams, who are responsible for operationalising the services delivered by the Vendors and KPMG Technology Procurement who play a key role in the contracting process.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Take commercial and contract leadership of key vendor relationships to identify, drive and assure full commercial value is realised, throughout the contract lifecycle, in line with EWT and executive objectives.
  • Work with the Commercial and Vendor Management Director and EWT Leadership Team to develop and execute the FY25/6 sourcing strategies.
  • Working with the Commercial and Vendor Management Director to ensure that EWTs Scope 3 Decarbonisation Journey hits the developing roadmap targets and champion EWT and KPMG's ESG agenda and the Sustainable Procurement programme.
  • Take on People/Line Management of more junior Vendor Team members.
  • Work with EWT Service Ops and Platform Engineering teams to ensure the service provision is delivered in line with agreed contracts and Service Level Agreements.
  • Manage Key Vendor and DFC budge ti ng, forecas ti ng, and actual/variance repor ti ng; Measure, track & report fi nancial KPIs; suggest management ac ti ons.
  • Deliver year on year Vendor DFC spend profile savings as committed in EWT FY plans.
  • Chair the weekly IT Spend Commercial Review Board and progress approvals.
  • Ensure accurate billing of costs from 3rd party vendors to KPMG, and accurate alloca ti on of costs to client-facing Capabili ti es.
  • Manage and report vendor improvement initiatives and workstreams across innovation, vendor development, performance improvement, risk management, sustainability and value improvement as appropriate.
  • Build and develop close working relationships with key stakeholders and senior leadership teams both in the providers, EWT, KBS and beyond to support a quality and innovative service culture.

Essential skills and Experience Required

Commercial and Contract Management Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong experience as a commercial contract manager with exposure to complex, risky deals.
  • Experience leading teams with good/impactful executive presence.
  • Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external executives and be capable of contributing and influencing key commercial and contracting decisions.
  • Proven track record and long-term experience in IT outsourcing, and management of outsourced major Service Providers from contracting to go-live of service delivery to contract exit.
  • Proven track-record of successfully executing vendor management solutions, or commercial benefits across a wide stakeholder group and the value achieved through successful vendor relationships.
  • Proven team management experience in cluding building and developing offshore teams.
  • Proven track record of sizeable budgeting and financial management.
  • Strong experience in IT business management, working in a complex matrix organisa ti on with global dependencies.
  • Strong influencing skills to ensure successful application of Vendor Management methodology and commercial strategy and governance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Direct client experience in Technology Services in a commercial role and strong experience working with a Major Outsourced Vendor base covering Infrastructure, EUS, Application and Network Services.
  • Experience in relevant senior commercial roles, preferably within the Vendor Management area.
  • Strong appreciation of financial/professional services culture
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent)
