We have an immediate requirement for a Technical Services Manager to manage our Systems Integration / Automation team from our offices in Southampton. The Technical Services Manager will report to the General Manager and responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of Automation Engineers
  • Pre-Contract Site Surveys
  • Quotation Preparation in collaboration with tendering team
  • Resource analysis and allocation in collaboration with Project Manager
  • Solution investigations and development (optioneering).
  • Equipment Selection and Purchasing
  • Report writing
  • Definition of control system documentation (FDS, SDS, FAT, SAT)
  • Ensuring of completion of projects to programme, within budget and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations

In addition to the primary responsibilities above, there will also be secondary responsibilities that may need to be carried out depending on project requirements these to include:

  • Configuration and programming of multiple PLC, HMI, SCADA and telemetry systems including:
  • Siemens (S7, WinCC etc)
  • Allen Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, SLC, Panelview etc)
  • Schneider (M340, Magelis, Talus4e, Intouch, ClearSCADA etc)
  • Mitsubishi (A, FX and Q range, Mitsubishi HMIs (Beijer)

Skills / Background:

  • A background of working as a Senior Automation Engineer
  • Previous experience leading a team of Automation Engineers
  • Writing standard library functions with full documentation
  • Definition of specifications and standards
  • Industrial Network Protocols (ProfiNet / Modbus etc)
  • IT / OT network configuration
  • Relevant engineering qualification or by experience
  • Experience of working within NEC 3 / 4 contract environments
  • Knowledge of the water / wastewater industry advantageous
