The Role
ALS Laboratories are looking for a Technical Senior Analyst to support their Organics department at Coventry.
The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and support to the analytical teams, while implementing method development and improvement. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting instruments so a technical background will be required.
This role requires someone who has a meticulous eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and an in-depth knowledge of analytical instrumentation techniques.

Days Per Week: Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday (8am to 4pm)
Contract: Full Time and Permanent
Hours: 37
Annual Salary Range: £25,943 - £28,819 per annum
The day to day
- Validation of analytical methods and assisting with non-routine testing.
- Ensure that analytical methods are performing effectively and efficiently.
- Audit methods as part of the UKAS 17025 programme.
- Interpretation and reporting of analytical data.
- Troubleshoot and demonstrate analytical problem-solving skills.
- Work with the Quality Manager on PT scheme performance.
- Represent ALS on external technical groups as appropriate.
- Advise on capital equipment purchases.
The Essentials
- Minimum of degree or equivalent.
- Significant laboratory experience including method development validation.
- Experience of proficiency testing schemes.
- Experience in training and assessing competency.
- Good IT skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of Quality Management System.
- Evaluate critically and draw conclusions from scientific and other data.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your own work and others in the team.
