To build our team we are looking for a Technical Sales Manager to join our Sales Team initially reporting to the R&D Director and then the Sales Director.
Your Mission
As Technical Sales Manager, you will collaborate with UK bakery manufacturers to accelerate their innovation processes, while actively seeking out and overseeing new commercial opportunities and safeguarding established partnerships. You will drive initiatives to introduce grains & seeds, sourdough, and advanced improver products within client production environments, and develop as well as upscale new product lines in partnership with customers and internal teams. Additionally, you will take responsibility for the sales performance and profitability of your assigned Puratos accounts.
What you will do
Creating and winning Bakery business:
- Creating and deploying a plan to win targeted business aligned to our Customer and Product strategy.
- Managing business opportunities and risks to existing partnerships.
- Leading projects to deploy existing, and new, products at our customers' production facilities.
- Explaining complex technical concepts in simple terms to educate and stimulate.
Managing your activity:
- Reporting monthly to Business Development stakeholders on current and future projects.
- Expert use of business tools:
- Customer Relationship Management (SAP-CRM C4 HANA)
- Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
- Delivering against the agreed Production Margin target.
New product development and innovations:
- Working closely with a selected range of customers to understand their current and future needs.
- Translating their product aspirations into a technical brief for Puratos.
- Designing a solution to support the customer's innovated need.
- Supporting plant trials as the project grows - both internal scale-up and with our customers in their factories.
Network building:
- Foster strong connections with the Nation's Bakery producers (customers and customers-to-be).
- Develop and maintain a network of ingredient and equipment experts in Puratos and externally.
- Cultivate business-wide relationships to effectively transform opportunities into wins.
- Inform and educate stakeholders on future choices across the UK and Puratos' Business Units.

You'll need to be able to:
- Understand what, why and how to use ingredients to create and ameliorate healthy, delicious and cost-effective bakery products.
- Demonstrate mastery of the equipment that turns ideas into reality, in the lab and on plant.
- Transmit a passion for shaping the future of bakery through a deep knowledge of its past.
- Talk confidently and comfortably about all things bread !
The successful candidate will:
- Have at least 5 years' experience working with bakery ingredients at industrial scale.
- Be able to travel in the UK and occasionally abroad (two days a week on average)
- Be open to flexible working hours
- Be confident with modern IT tools (primary usage: Microsoft Office Suite, Generative AI and SAP tools)
- Hold a Drivers' license, a Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate and HACCP level 3.
