About the job
A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
In this role in Google's Submarine team, you will drive the automation and optimization of our Cable Landing Station (CLS) workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze processes, gather requirements, and transform data into actionable insights. Your work is critical to improving the efficiency and tactical operation of Google's global data center infrastructure.
You will be responsible for identifying process improvements, introducing industry standard tools and creating/code automations. Assist the development of new systems and operational building and workflow tools, via automated data extraction and perform A/B tests and analyze results. In addition, create and evolve new operational processes, insights and identify use cases in relation to the new Business Management Systems (BMS) workflow, AI tools being implemented within Global Submarine Networks (GSN) for managing Cable Landing Station Facilities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze datasets to identify key trends, develop dashboards and reports, and present data-driven insights to audiences to support business decisions.
- Elicit, analyze, and translate stakeholder needs into detailed functional and non-functional specifications for projects, ensuring all requirements are clearly documented.
- Apply previous experience in data center software automation and knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems to inform project development and solution design.
- Identify and analyze existing workflows, then recommend and implement automated solutions like predictive maintenance and automated ticketing to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Use Python to parse CAD and BIM files, integrating this data into systems like BigQuery to create a digital twin of the data center, while also providing project and stakeholder support.
