Technical Product Manager (12 Month FTC)

Your team: Commercial Operations & Technology is a thriving team focused on the ongoing maintenance, protection, and growth of commercial revenues at News UK. Your role: As a Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for the product roadmap and delivery of commercial products, technology, and digital advertising across News UK, including The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun, and the News Broadcasting portfolios. Reporting to the leadership team, you will work closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to implement and develop website and app features that align with commercial strategies, supporting the full product life cycle from initiation to engineering delivery.

Day to day you will:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap across websites and apps, collaborating closely with the programme manager and commercial stakeholders.
  • Align development dependencies and capture business initiatives through active participation in quarterly planning (PI Planning) processes.
  • Prioritize the product roadmap alongside commercial leadership to ensure alignment with overarching KPIs and cross-functional objectives.
  • Utilize and analyze data proactively to monitor performance, isolate auction behaviors within programmatic SSPs and DSPs, and identify future optimization opportunities.
  • Champion commercial products across product, design, and engineering teams to ensure commercial considerations and insights are embedded from project inception.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and engineering teams to assemble well-defined requirements, build business cases, and deliver high-quality technical solutions.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Demonstrate experience in a product management role, with a proven track record of technical achievement and leading complex digital products in a fast-paced environment.
  • Apply a strong understanding of digital ad technology, including programmatic, direct, and affiliate advertising frameworks.
  • Manage a technical roadmap tailored for website and/or app development life cycles, proactively identifying new product opportunities.
  • Utilize analytical skills to interpret data, identify performance issues, and build data-driven business cases to justify product decisions.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills to effectively tell stories and influence senior stakeholders.
