As a Technical Manager (WNI), you'll lead a team of engineering experts to deliver a diverse range of clean water (potable) non-infrastructure (treatment) projects. You'll be at the forefront of design management, innovation, and project execution, ensuring value-driven, sustainable solutions align with Anglian Water's objectives.
What you'll be doing
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Leadership - Oversee the engineering design delivery for a portfolio of WNI projects.
- Strategic Planning - Develop Engineering Project Plans covering scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resources.
- Design Excellence - Implement best-practice design methodologies, ensuring high-quality, right-first-time outputs.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Engagement - Manage supplier/subcontractor input, ensuring seamless integration into projects.
- Project Optimisation - Identify and implement opportunities for cost-efficiency, value, and sustainability.
- Carbon & Environmental Responsibility - Champion low-carbon, nature-based, and sustainable design solutions.
- Risk & Compliance - Ensure all designs comply with CDM regulations and safety standards.
- Team Leadership & Development - Inspire, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering team (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process).
- Digital Transformation - Drive innovation, digitalisation, and continuous improvement in project delivery.
Who we're looking for
What Are We Looking For?
- Engineering Expertise - Degree in Engineering or equivalent, with extensive experience in water-sector projects.
- Project & Design Management Experience - Proven ability to lead engineering design teams and deliver complex projects.
- Technical Knowledge - Familiarity with nitrate & PFAS removal, taste & odour treatment, WTW upgrades, boreholes, pumping stations, and chemical dosing.
- Leadership Skills - Strong ability to motivate, mentor, and manage multi-disciplinary teams.
- Collaborative & Solution-Focused - A problem solver who thrives in cross-functional, high-impact environments.
- Stakeholder & Customer Focused - Ability to build strong relationships and drive customer satisfaction.
