Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a Technical Manager - Product Attributes & Requirements Management to join the business on a full-time basis, at our Crewe Campus (Hybrid working).

Reporting to the Head of Attributes & Requirements Management, the Technical Manager - Product Attributes & Requirements Management, will be responsible for managing attributes and needs defined vehicle level requirements, from project kick-off to Engineering release.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a high impact role, which combines technical expertise, business and customer requirements plus vehicle attributes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership in Attribute led Requirements Management
  • Integrating benchmarking and competitor intelligence across the business, to inform strategic roadmaps
  • Working with the wider Research and Development team, to develop attribute & technology roadmaps
  • Tool and method development, to manage increasingly complex attribute and system interdependencies
  • Manage attribute events (static/dynamic) and conducting attribute evaluations
  • Gaining agreement of requirements by system owners and evaluating countermeasures to target conflicts, prior to forming recommendations for decisions

Sat within Whole Vehicle Engineering, the Attributes & Requirements Department is at the forefront of defining and developing Bentley's extraordinary products. The team succeeds by combining expert domain knowledge and state-of-the-art tools and methods, together with strong influential relationships with a broad range of stakeholders internally and externally.

About you - Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have proven Automotive Engineering experience, with technical management/leadership competencies in vehicle engineering or product development.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • A passion for customer centric vehicle engineering
  • Applied experience in vehicle attribute development / applied understanding of requirements-led systems engineering
  • Excellent communication - ability to distil complex information and communicate effectively in senior forums up to Board level
  • Use of competitor Intelligence and benchmarking to inform strategic roadmaps
  • Experience in managing a cross-business team to deliver results
  • A Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Degree
  • A commitment to personal development and team learning
