Purpose of the Role
Join the Vehicle Motion team as the Functional Safety Technical Manager, where you'll be responsible for the delivery of ISO26262. You will co-ordinate, advise and ensure Functional Safety delivery to Bentley guidelines for the Vehicle Motion team. You will maintain and review functional safety documentation, escalating issues / risks to senior stakeholders and be a key element in driving process development and improvements. As a core member of the functional safety team you will play a pivotal role in driving Bentleys Beyond100 strategy. Reporting into the Functional Manager Compliance and Process, your main responsibilities include;

• Scope technical impact on components, functions or systems as required
• Lead & support internal & supplier reviews, e.g., Hazard & Risk Analysis (HARA), impact / gap analysis, interface agreements
• Lead definition & quantification of risk and interpreting Function & Fault trees
• Maintain & keep records on Functional Safety activities - Bentley and suppliers
• Technical point of contact for Functional Safety within department
• Reporting project status and technical points for Functional Safety

About the Team
Vehicle motion is responsible for tuning how our cars drive, respond and feel - engine/eMotor management, transmission management, chassis control and the latest generation of driver assistance systems (DAS).

The compliance and process team is built up of 5 diverse and exciting areas - Functional Safety, Emissions compliance, Process Operations, Legislation, and Cyber Security. You will play a key part in ensuring commonality across our platforms, and management of all Vehicle Motions safety functions, in line with ISO26262. You will also help bridge the gap between safety and security, in line with ISO21434

About you - Skills and Experience

• Automotive sector, off highway or aerospace
• Experience in all cycles of the V-Model, from concept/hazard and risk assessment (HARA) through to validation testing and delivery.
• Familiar with all types of functional safety - ideally certified in ISO26262, and familiar with safety of the intended function (SOTIF)
• Awareness of other types of functional safety methodologies, namely IEC61508
• Naturally inquisitive with excellent time management, budget and self-organisational skills
• A relevant degree or equivalent experience, German language skills advantageous but not essential
