We have a very exciting opportunity with a brand new role to join Waitrose as a Technical Manager - Dishpatch, reporting into our Operations Director for Dishpatch. 

Waitrose & Partners recently acquired Dishpatch, the meal-kit delivery service that provides restaurant-quality home dining made by some of the UK’s leading chefs. 

So, what is Dishpatch? 

Dishpatch replicates a restaurant experience without leaving the house with chef-prepared dishes. Customers can choose from over 30 Dishpatch menus delivered to their doorstep nationally on Fridays – perfect timing for an indulgent weekend meal! Unlike other meal kit companies, Dishpatch’s dishes come pre-prepared with only a few simple steps to finish and serve, truly taking the hassle out of high-end home dining for our customers. 

The basic info - 
Salary range: £57,00-£81,100
Contract type: Permanent 
Interviews: 2 stage process February 2025 
Location: Hybrid - a mixture between our Dishpatch base in North Greenwich, London (likely 2-3 days per week) and home/our Bracknell Waitrose head office campus (2 days per week)

The Dishpatch base in North Greenwich is conveniently located near to the tube station or if driving, a few minutes from the Blackwall Tunnel with on site parking. 

About the role

Dishpatch provides Michelin star food in the post. We’ve spent almost 5 years building the business working with some of the top leading UK chefs, bringing this exceptional quality food, direct to peoples homes.

We are looking for a Technical Manager to maintain and improve on the high quality and safety standards across our kitchens. 

You will also provide training and mentoring on best practices within food safety, as well as being the central point of contact for any changes to food safety legislation, as well as any internal policies and standards - ensuring we are fully compliant.

Essential skills you’ll need

  • Qualifications in food science (or similar) or equivalent experience in Technical within the Food & Grocery industry

  • Significant Technical experience within manufacturing in a Technical role

  • Passion for product and quality

  • Entrepreneurial passion, enjoys challenging ways of working and looks for novel solutions
