Purpose of the Role
Join the world class UX/UI team as a Technical Manager - Audio Systems where you will lead the development of future Audio Systems for all Bentley vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a passion for audio and a deep understanding of the latest technologies and will be a key player in supporting our Beyond 100+ Strategy. Reporting into the Functional Manager - Audio & Comms your main responsibilities include leading in the following areas:

  • Sound System Development for all vehicles
  • Collaboration with Design and Engineering Teams
  • Innovation and Technology Development/Integration
  • User Experience Enhancement
  • Collaboration with VW group counterparts to share and make use of platform/module technologies
  • Develop Audio road map in alignment with Attribute targets
  • Fix Audio content and set system maturity targets
  • Track Audio system development and report status
  • Identify risks and issues, develop countermeasures and ensure delivery
  • Review technical release documentation and approvals for each vehicle build phase
  • Ensure Audio systems meet Global Automotive safety/legal and quality standards

About the Team
The world class UX/UI teams sits within Electrical Engineering & the Research and Development space at Bentley, collaborating heavily with the design team. This team is responsible for delivering multi-sensory experiences for our luxury product range.

Our dynamic and agile team is responsible for crafting luxury UX for Bentley's present and future vehicles, from the initial sketch to the final software delivery. Our work spans the whole UX spectrum from - graphics & interaction design to interior lighting, sound and software.

About you - Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge leading Audio Acoustic solutions ideally within an automotive environment however other relevant industries may also be considered, along with the following;

  • Bachelor's degree in audio engineering or a related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • A deep knowledge and understanding of Automotive Audio Systems/ requirements and communication
  • Experience of being the subject matter expert in the realm of Audio Systems
  • Technical leadership experience gained within a systems engineering environment
  • Knowledge of developing Audio systems and/or products within the automotive industry or an industry with equivalent complexity
  • Knowledge of software delivery processes and tools
  • The ability to process complex data drawn from many sources, assess options and enable effective decision making
  • Led and motivated diverse R&D teams to resolve technical and delivery conflicts
  • Experience of improving ways of working though structured improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
