Whether you're already a Technical Manager or a Quality Manager ready to step up, this role gives you the chance to lead a dedicated technical and hygiene team, own site compliance, and drive continuous improvement at the home of Young's Scampi.
Please note that this role requires 5 days a week onsite in Annan
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
- Experience in a senior technical or quality role within food manufacturing.
- Solid knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and food safety legislation.
- Proven leadership ability, with a hands-on, team-first mindset.
We are particularly interested in candidates with seafood or meat experience, advanced HACCP, or a Food Science degree.

Your Key Responsibilities
You'll be more than a manager-you'll be the guardian of food safety and quality standards for major UK retailers, championing best practices and shaping a positive, proactive food safety culture.
What you'll do:
- Lead site-wide technical and hygiene performance, ensuring excellence in compliance and standards.
- Own and evolve the site's Quality Management System, maintaining top BRC ratings.
- Build a strong, motivated team through coaching, support, and development.
- Collaborate with production and NPD teams to launch great products, the right way.
- Spot improvement opportunities, solve problems fast, and always strive for better.
- Travel occasionally to Malton, Yorkshire and Kilkeel, NI to align with wider technical teams.
