Do you have the leadership qualities to manage the technical team across two of the region's premier performance venues, the Regent Theatre and the Corn Exchange? Between them they host more than 200 different performances each year, everything from West End musicals to the biggest names in pop, rock and comedy.

Our venues provide a fantastic mix of shows throughout the year, plus you get to support the wider team with some of the region's biggest events.

The Grade II Listed Regent Theatre is the largest theatre in East Anglia with seating for 1551 people. It presents an engaging programme of concerts, gigs, West End musicals, comedy, and an annual traditional family pantomime.

The historic Corn Exchange is part of Ipswich's impressive Town Hall and when used as a theatre has adaptable seating for 800. The venue presents a very wide variety of events, with everything from concerts and conferences to wrestling and darts.

We pride ourselves on delivering a great customer experience, whether front of house or backstage and we get to work with some of the UK's biggest promoters and producers. The programme is varied and fast paced and challenging but we have a great reputation of just sometimes making the impossible happen.

The senior management team is small but perfectly formed and this role plays a crucial part in driving our objectives and delivering great nights out for our valued customers.

We're looking for someone with a passion for theatre and the performing arts combined with great organisational skills to develop service delivery with a dedicated team of Shows and Events Co-Ordinators, technicians, internal and agency crew.

You will need strong team leadership skills, have an eye for detail and be competent to ensure a safe working environment for all. This role includes facility management across both venues. You'll also need to be able to manage working shift patterns for the wider team with a high level of PC and IT competency. Communication is key to this role, whether with external partners or internal, combined with a high level of industry knowledge.

Someone creative and proactive, with a great work ethic and the ability to deliver results in a fast-moving arts environment.

HND or equivalent in a technical related profession with work related experience in a live theatre or similar venue or similar experience.

Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday. The post holder will be required to work a shift pattern, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

We will offer you:

  • a good salary
  • a career average pension scheme
  • generous holiday and sick pay entitlements
  • subsidised parking for work and leisure
  • public transport discounts
  • free swimming and gym membership
  • cycle purchase scheme
  • plenty of personal and professional development opportunities
  • flexible working
  • hybrid working opportunities
  • employee assistance programme
  • the opportunity to work with great colleagues.
