The role of Technical Delivery Manager in our fuel card division is important to us.
Fuel cards are one of our flagship products, with a well established and high performing software development team providing the technology that underpins the success of the division.
As one of our Technical Delivery Managers, you'll lead the delivery of some complex software development projects that underpin our enterprise architecture. Working across multiple applications and in-house development teams, you'll drive projects from inception to completion, ensuring smooth transitions to service.
The role is based from our head office environment in Crewe, Cheshire and is eligible for inclusion in our hybrid working policy (minimum 3 days per week in the office).
Your responsibilities will include...
- End-to-End Project Management: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial analysis and planning to design, development, testing, and post-go-live support.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with business units to elicit requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment.
- Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, manage risks, and ensure timely, scoped delivery.
- Hands-On Involvement: Engage directly in project activities, including solution design, testing and user training when needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Introduce creative ideas to enhance systems and processes.
- Ownership & Support: Take accountability for project outcomes and provide ongoing business support post-delivery.
- Technical Understanding: Gain in-depth knowledge of the systems to effectively address business queries.
What do we expect of you?
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience managing complex technical projects across full lifecycles.
- Competence in budgeting, estimation, and financial monitoring.
- Strong technical acumen to communicate effectively with development teams.
- Clear and concise reporting of progress, risks, and issues to senior management.
- Ability to break down large challenges into actionable deliverables.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as Prince2, MSP, ITIL, and task management tools like JIRA.
