About the Role

The Adoption Service are pleased to offer a unique and attractive Team Manager post, covering Post Order Support. The post holder will be a trauma informed, compassionate leader, who has an interest in developing the therapeutic offer and knowledge of the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund.

They will benefit from access to therapeutic training and will lead a highly skilled and long-standing team of professionals supporting children and young people on an Adoption, Special Guardianship or Child Arrangement Order. They will also have the privilege of managing the Birth Records Counselling service, sharing birth information before adoption, to adult adoptees.

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

About You

To apply for this post, you must have :

  • Relevant Degree or equivalent
  • Professional Social Work Qualification
  • Substantial post qualifying experience of working with children and families experience
  • Experience of statutory childcare work, including safeguarding, child protection and court processes
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Ability to analyse information to reach sound decisions, often under pressure, and to take responsibility for their outcome and regular reporting to the Service Manager
  • Good organisational skills, prioritisation and managing heavy workloads

You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
