There is currently a rare opportunity available to join St Helens Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub ( MASH ) as Team Manager.
St Helens MASH is a multi agency safeguarding team which is well established and has gained high praise in previous Ofsted inspections and internal review.
The team is fully integrated with health, education, police and wider services to support decision making at the front door in respect of children being referred where there are concerns for their welfare.
The right candidate will be joining an experienced team, with one existing experienced Team Manager, 2 Assistant Team Managers, 4 Social Workers and wider partners. The team work collaboratively and seek regular learning and review opportunities in fortnightly threshold review meetings to support continual learning and best practice.
The MASH has oversight and support from an operational and strategic MASH board, of which the team managers and Head of Service will present at.
The MASH is also closely aligned with Ealy Help colleagues to support earlier intervention to ensure only the right children receive statutory social care support.

Roles That Matter
The MASH Team Manager is key to delivery of outstanding practice standards , quality assurance, performance and decision making in the MASH team.
St Helens MASH is a well established team, you will be joined by another Team Manager, 2 Assistant Team Managers and Social Workers, alongside wider partners integrated in MASH.
This is a hybrid role, which welcomes the flexibility of both office and home working. The minimum days expected to be in the office is 2 days, to enable that face to face connection with team members and welfare.
The right candidate will have a passion for delivering services to a high standard, you will be responsible for driving practice standards and ensuring the welfare of social care staff within MASH. You will need to be effective at building and maintaining positive relationships within and external to the team, and reducing barriers around multi agency working and wider.
You will play a key role in ensuring children receive the right level of help and support, and have responsibility for the oversight of decision making in this respect. Therefore the right candidate will have an acute awareness of thresholds, management of risk and good quality assessment and outcomes. You will be climatised to working under pressure in a busy front door, and adhering to timescales for decision making.
You will be supported throughout your journey in your role as MASH manager with regular supervision and support, learning opportunities for further growth and opportunities to connect on a regular basis with senior leaders.
