Team Manager, Front Door to Children Social Care

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team, of 3 Co-ordinators', 4 Social Workers and 2 Senior Social Workers and our established Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub. Also seated the Front Door are the Intensive Family Support Hub. In the months ahead we will be expanding our Front Door service to include the Adolescent Safety Framework, we are proud to continue to be developing our service.

About the role

The Front Door will work closely together with the newly forming Assessment Team which As the Front Door manager, you will work closely and supportively with the newly formed Assessment team manager.

We are a team who sit together, learn from each other and are developing our knowledge and understanding of Restorative Relationships and Trauma Informed practice. We are really excited about our future and the difference we can make to children and their families North Somerset.

This is a permanent role, working 37 hours per week. Although there is some room from working outside the office we have found that a strength of our team in the fact we are together for the working week. If you as successful you will be line managed by The Head of Front Door and Family Wellbeing.

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.

Requirements of the job

  • Social Work qualification, ie social work degree, management qualification NVQ level 4 or working towards level 4 and 5 years post qualifying experience as a social worker.
  • An approved professional qualification relevant to the area of work to give approved Social Work England registration, and practical experience of working with service user groups giving rise to a variety of technical skills and thorough understanding of the principles of the services available, work practices and processes.
  • Specialist knowledge of childcare across the range of work procedures and practices underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience.
  • Knowledge of National Minimum Standards for all areas of the service.
  • Registered as a social worker with Social Work England
