Our Front Door Team is well-established, comprising 3 Coordinators, 4 Social Workers, and 2 Senior Social Workers, alongside our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub and Intensive Family Support Hub. We prioritize collaborative learning and are currently enhancing our understanding of Restorative Relationships and Trauma-Informed practice. As we expand our services to include the Adolescent Safety Framework, we're excited about the future and the impact we can make on children and their families in North Somerset.

About the Role

As the Front Door Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting our expanding team. Reporting to the Head of Front Door and Family Wellbeing, you will work closely with the newly formed Assessment Team Manager to ensure seamless coordination between teams. This is a permanent position requiring 37 hours per week. While some flexibility to work outside the office is possible, our strength lies in the cohesion of our team working together throughout the week.

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support to the Front Door Team, ensuring effective delivery of services.
  • Collaborate with the Assessment Team Manager to streamline processes and ensure holistic support for children and families.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance Restorative Relationships and Trauma-Informed practice within the team.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in children's services.
  • Ensure compliance with National Minimum Standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular supervision and performance reviews for team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including partner agencies, service users, and community organizations to promote collaborative working and achieve positive outcomes for children and families.

Requirements

  • Social Work qualification (e.g., social work degree) or management qualification (NVQ level 4) with at least 5 years post-qualifying experience as a social worker.
  • Approved professional qualification relevant to children's services, leading to Social Work England registration.
  • Specialist knowledge of childcare practices, underpinned by theoretical understanding and practical experience.
  • Familiarity with National Minimum Standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Registered as a social worker with Social Work England.
  • Valid driving license and own transport, or alternative suitable method of travel.
