Making A Difference as a Team Manager-Development Plans in the Planning & Regeneration Service.

We are dealing with an exciting range of planning challenges, balancing needs for major new development linked to the Council's growth agenda, against the protection of the Borough's greenspaces and other environmental assets. We have recently adopted our ambitious new Local Plan.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active Development Plans Manager, with excellent knowledge of Planning policy and legislation, to take forward our work on our SPDs, the preparation of our Bold Forest Garden Village masterplan and other planning policy work.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and motivated individual to drive forward planning policy to support the growth agenda. You will be involved in all aspects of plan-making, working in partnership with officers across the Council and developing effective relationships with different authorities, agencies, and communities in St Helens and beyond.

You will be an experienced and skilled planner with the drive and commitment to lead and deal with the complexities of planning policy. You will be innovative and adept in partnership working and problem solving and be well equipped to lead the team effectively and collaboratively.
In line with our new ways of working, this role is hybrid and will involve a mix of working from home and working in our agile hub at Atlas House in St Helens Town Centre.
