Time to make that change to your life and the lives of others........

Are you ready to lead with passion, innovation, and dedication? We are seeking an inspirational, dynamic, and innovative Team Manager to join EmPower Contextual Safeguarding Team in the Lancaster, Fylde and Wyre area. This is your opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of adolescents experiencing extra-familial harm and exploitation.

Contextual Safeguarding is a cutting-edge approach to understanding and responding to young people's experiences of significant harm beyond their families. It acknowledges that the relationships young people form in their neighbourhoods, schools, and online can involve violence and abuse. Since parents and carers have limited influence over these contexts, it is crucial for social care practitioners to engage with those who do. This approach expands child protection systems to address the vulnerabilities of young people in various social settings.

Your Role

As the Team Manager, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing the Contextual Safeguarding approach across Lancashire Children's Social Care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership and Development: Inspire and manage a team of multidisciplinary practitioners, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Strategic Implementation: Drive the development and implementation of Contextual Safeguarding practices, ensuring they are embedded across the service.
  • Safeguarding Excellence: Oversee the protection of adolescents from extra-familial harm, ensuring effective interventions and support.
  • Caseload Management: Maintain a sensible caseload, with an average of 12 children, allowing your team to deliver high-quality support.
  • Flexibility and Trust: Benefit from a flexible working environment that values outcomes over clock-watching, with opportunities to work from home and adjust your hours.
  • Professional Growth: Challenge and develop your team and yourself, driving excellence and motivating your team even in the face of tough decisions.

What We Offer

  • Impactful Work: Make a real difference in the lives of young people and their families through multi-agency working.
  • Supportive Environment: Join a team that values collaboration, mutual support, and professional growth.
  • Significant Investments: Benefit from recent investments aimed at supporting you and your team in delivering outstanding support.
  • Competitive Salary: Receive an attractive remuneration package that reflects your experience and dedication.

About You

  • Qualifications: Degree in Social Work, with relevant professional registration.
  • Experience: Proven track record in managing a team within a social work or safeguarding context.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to handle complex situations and work effectively under pressure.
  • Passion: A genuine commitment to safeguarding and improving the lives of adolescents.
