Join Newport City Council as our new, innovative Cleansing Manager!

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Cleansing Manager to lead our efforts in maintaining and enhancing the cleanliness of our vibrant city. This is not just a traditional role delivering street cleansing services - we are looking for someone with creative problem-solving skills who can revolutionise our approach to the cleansing service across the City.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement transformative strategies to improve city cleanliness
• Incorporate the latest technologies and innovative methods to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• Lead a dedicated team with a focus on continuous improvement and excellence.
• Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination with communities.
• Work closely with a range of contractors, partners and suppliers to increase recycling and reduce carbon emissions.

Who we're looking for:

• A visionary leader with a passion for innovation and transformation and experience in incorporating new technologies to drive change.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an appreciation of the importance of customer care.
• Proven track record of successful project management and team leadership to adapt and respond to the evolving needs of the city.
• An appreciation of budget management is essential, as you will be responsible for overseeing expenditures and ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
• The ideal candidate will maintain attention to detail while working to tight deadlines and possess excellent IT and data analysis/management skills.

You will report directly to the Waste and Cleansing Service Manager, work closely with and provide support as needed to other managers across the Environment and Public Protection service area that brings together waste and cleansing services with grounds, community protection, parks and recreation, cemetery and crematorium, climate change, biodiversity and regulatory services.
