About the Role...

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Lancashire County Council as a Team Manager within our Leaving Care Service.

Lancashire leaving care service is looking to recruit a team manager who is passionate and committed to ensuring the highest quality of support to young people as they prepare to leave our care as well and to ensure we provide excellent support through assessments and plans which ensure our care experienced young people achieve their full potential.

The team supports care leavers from east Lancashire who live in Lancashire or out of area. The team's place based support offer focuses on Hyndburn and Ribble Valley and the main base for the team is in Burnley at present.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the line management of up to 7 personal advisors and one social worker as well as case management and quality assurance of the work across the team. You will also be involved in several strategic developments as we continue to extend our offer of care and support.

About you..

We are seeking someone who possesses the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Social Work England Registered: You will hold a relevant Social Work Qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
  • Leadership Experience: You will hold significant leadership experience in the Children's Social Care sector, with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams; managing complex cases while ensuring high quality service delivery, in challenging environments.
  • Safeguarding Knowledge: You will possess a strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, inspection frameworks, and statutory responsibilities.
  • Communication Skills: You will be able to influence and inspire others, while utilising excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
