To help deliver our vision we are looking for a Team Manager who is enthusiastic, passionate and has a strong track record of working with children, young people and their families to achieve positive outcomes. Join one of our Children's Social Care teams and you will play a key role in improving the life for families and children in Leicester.

This is a full-time position (37 hours a week) with core working hours of 8.30am till 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am till 4.30pm on Friday. Based predominantly at Halford house, with flexible working that fits service needs. It is expected that you cover out of hours on a rota basis.

What you'll be doing

As a leader, you will ensure performance within your team. Leading on supervision your workload will include managing a range of case from the initial referral and completing a Single Assessment Keeping the child and their families at the centre of your work. We use Signs of Safety as a model of intervention to support sound social work practice and our work is underpinned by the principles of trauma informed practice and the Lundy model of Participation. As an authority we are committed to addressing racial injustice both for the families we work with and across the workforce. Which you'll play a key role in.

What you'll need

With experience of children's social work and the legislation around this, you'll be able to guide your team working flexibly to ensure their best work. Motivating and developing staff effectively, you'll use evidence-based practice and research to underpin your decisions. Often, having to work under pressure you'll be aware of issues affecting vulnerable children and their families and carers, including looked after children. So, you'll be able to put them at the centre of your team's work.

Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced Children's DBS check, Social Work England registration and a Relevant professional qualification e.g. Social Work (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent for Education, Police or Health).
