Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Worker Type: Hybrid worker

Salary: Starting Salary is £48,474 (Level one) rising to £51,515 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

Location: Loxley House, Station Street, Nottingham, NG2 3NG. (this is under review)

About the Role

  • To lead and develop an efficient and innovative adaptations service in accordance with the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 and Care Act 2014 and other relevant policy and best practice.
  • The team work with citizens who have long term health conditions or disabilities, living in all tenures and provide adaptations under both Disabled Facilities Grant and Housing Revenue funding.
  • To maintain and improve performance throughout the citizen journey ensuring people are supported to stay in their own homes for longer, or return from hospital sooner.
  • Manage a team consisting of Project Officers and Project Assistants. The team offer an agency service to support citizens with all stages of the adaptation process including designing and drawing of schemes, support the grant application process, planning /building regulations etc through to completions of the scheme.
  • Monitor and review outcomes to ensure quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with partners across housing, adult and children's social care and external stakeholders
  • To be accountable for substantial revenue and capital budgets

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive knowledge of housing construction and repair, renovation, and adaptation techniques
  • Extensive knowledge of building and planning regulations, and of legislation regarding grants and other assistance
  • Comprehensive understanding of the housing needs of disabled people
  • People management skills, and skills in respect of performance management and setting clear objectives to ensure efficient and effective services.
  • Experience of project management to include monitoring budgets, procurement and tendering for services.

- A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
