1. Work jointly with the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to build, monitor and maintain service delivery outcomes, ensuring strong clinical oversight and continuous improvement.

2. Provide day-to-day operational and clinical leadership to ensure safe, effective, person-centred crisis intervention.

3. Lead complex assessments, formulations and stabilisation plans using PBS and autism-informed frameworks.

4. Ensure robust MDT working, including risk reviews, CTR/CRTs and Blue Light meetings.

5. Ensure practice aligns with the Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, safeguarding and statutory responsibilities.

6. Ensure interventions are delivered within the least restrictive, community-based environment.

7. Promote effective communication with Community LD Teams and inpatient LD/MH units.

8. Support admission avoidance and timely discharge through collaborative system working.

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nurse (LD/MH), Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Psychology OR significant operational leadership experience in LD/autism services

Desirable criteria

  • Leadership or management qualification

  • Experience in crisis intervention and behaviour of concern pathways
