Permanent contract | £48,610 to £52,594 per annum (Scale L) | 37 hours per week | County Hall, Norwich

We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers/Occupational Therapists (grade J and above), Practice Consultants and Team Managers new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should they leave within two years of employment.

For experienced Social Workers new to Norfolk County Council we promise to try and match or better your existing salary, providing its in the spectrum of the grade advertised.

NIPE is a multi-disciplinary team that offer a range of support to practitioners who are new to their role.

The NIPE Team Manager role is varied, but some of the key elements of the role are: Line management of qualified workers in the NIPE team who are supporting the development of social care practitioners across the county, overseeing the Assistant Practitioner Development Programme and the Occupational Therapy Preceptorship, assessor role for the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment for newly qualified social workers, being involved in the induction of new staff including facilitating regular workshops and delivering a range of training programs, and linking in with the HEI (higher educational Facilities) to promote ASSD as a place for employment.

The role will involve working across the County with a range of client groups and different teams, which includes Mental Health, Learning Disability, Physical Disability, Older People and Carers. At this time the base for NIPE is County Hall, but due to the nature of the work, your time may be spent working from home or completing observational visits across the County and hot desking in other NCC offices where appropriate.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive registered Social Worker who has a passion for supporting the development of colleagues as well as looking at how to improve our current offer to new and existing employees. You will have a sound knowledge around practice theories, applying legislation, and be able to put these into context for others to understand, and have experience supporting, assessing, or supervising colleagues. Due to the nature of the work you will need to be a good communicator as you will be expected to host training events and deliver presentations.

Norwich is the county capital of Norfolk, 120 miles from London and 60 miles from Cambridge. It's on the edge of the Broads National Park, and a 40-minute drive to the seaside. Norwich is a superb city. It effortlessly mixes outstanding heritage through the ages with modern shopping centres, excellent restaurants, hundreds of cafés and pubs, a superb arts and theatre scene with huge parks and green spaces, canoeing, rowing and sailing.

By train, Norwich to London takes 90 minutes and Cambridge less than an hour. There are also direct train links to the Midlands. Norwich International Airport has regular flights to Schiphol, Amsterdam and from there on to the rest of the world, plus daily internal flights to Scotland, Manchester, Exeter and Dublin.
