We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary Team Manager post in our access team within the housing advice and options service until March 31 2025

The Role(s)

The access team is the first point of access into the service for members of the public who require support and advice with homelessness, our customers require homelessness support for a wide range of issues, and this can also be traumatic time for single people and families. We aim to provide an efficient and supportive service for our customers.

We are looking for a Team Manager with experience of working with members of the public in a fast-paced environment. The role is based in Howden House. The access team consists of two points of access into the service. We have the public service which is a drop in and appointment based. We also have the phone service; both are operated between the hours of 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday.

Key characteristics of this post are effective leadership and management skills with the flexible deployment of a significant and resilient staff team. The post will manage an area of service that requires resilience and the ability to make decisions quickly and efficiently based on legislation and guidance.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
