Hi, I'm Becky Harris-Cook, Head of In Care, Life Beyond Care and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children Services.

I am looking for two Team Managers to work within our Corporate Parenting Service: one for In Care and one for Life Beyond Care.

I am proud of the service and continued commitment to improving the outcomes for children. The service is very friendly and supportive, and we have built a culture which nurtures development, creativity and child and young person-centred practice. Our Team Managers really support their teams and the work they do to achieve positive outcomes for our young people.

I hope you will be experienced in working with Looked After Children and/or care leavers/adults 18+ and understand the challenges they face in transitioning to independence/adulthood. It would be beneficial if you have experience working with care leavers, but it is not essential as we will be able to offer training and support.

This is an exciting service in Norfolk which continues to develop and grow. You will be part of developing the working practices within the teams as well as working closely with partner agencies to develop a robust, positive offer to those children and young people. We offer a friendly and supportive environment and look forward to welcoming dedicated and experienced social work professionals.

Norfolk is a fantastic place to live and work. You will be based at our County Hall office and work within our Norwich and South area. We are a hybrid service although encourage teams and workers to meet regularly in office spaces which are hybrid friendly. Therefore, a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

We have miles of beautiful coastline and our unique Broads, thriving market towns and a city with a proud cultural heritage. Our economy is growing and driven by innovation in a number of sectors, including energy and food. We also have ambitious plans for new housing and a building programme for schools across Norfolk. Our county is a great place to live, work and visit, and is an excellent environment for businesses to start, grow and innovate.

Before you apply, we recommend reading the full Job Description and Person Specification to help you demonstrate you meet the criteria.

These are some benefits you can enjoy by working for Norfolk County Council:

  • Competitive salary
  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • Health and Wellbeing services including fast-track physiotherapy and a free counselling service
