Lester Aldridge is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax and Trusts Manager to join our renowned Private Client team. Key Responsibilities
- Manage tax compliance filing obligations for a diverse caseload of individuals, trusts, and estates.
- Prepare Self Assessment and CGT returns for individuals, trusts, estates, and partnerships.
- Produce annual trust accounts and oversee trust administration.
- Provide ad hoc tax advice and draft declarations of trust for income tax and CGT planning.
- Prepare inheritance tax returns for 10-year anniversary charges, exit charges, and life interest terminations.
- Handle trust terminations, including deeds of appointment, tax filings, trustee statements, and fund distributions.
- Register and maintain trust and estate records on HMRC's Trust Registration Service (TRS).
- Prepare annual ATED returns and relief claims.
- Manage FATCA and CRS compliance for trusts and the firm's trust corporation.
- File Swiss withholding tax repayment claims (Form 86).
- Lead clients through the transition to Making Tax Digital.
- Liaise with trustees, beneficiaries, investment managers, and other professionals.
- Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service.
- Record time efficiently and manage monthly billing.
- Stay current with tax legislation and best practices.
- Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Skills & Competence
- Minimum 10+ years' experience in tax compliance.
- Strong understanding of trust law and tax legislation.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload independently and under pressure.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Empathetic approach to client service, especially with older individuals.
- Collaborative team player with a flexible and proactive mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a capacity to learn quickly.
