Our training, opportunities, and creative freedom empower you to innovate and impact our network of over 300,000 professionals and one million alumni. At EY, you lead, inspire, and bring our purpose to life, both during your tenure and beyond.

The Team

Our US/UK Cross-Border Tax team combines the best of both practices to deliver exceptional client service and global reach. With over 45 years of experience advising US and UK private clients, we guide individuals through the complex tax regulations and planning considerations that apply across jurisdictions.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join our US/UK Cross-Border team as a Tax Senior. You'll serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, managing the preparation and review of their US and/or UK tax returns. You'll collaborate closely with managers and partners, identifying tax planning opportunities and ensuring compliance excellence. This role offers the chance to handle a diverse and often complex client portfolio while building your technical and leadership skills within a supportive and high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Tax Senior, you will:

  • Manage an allocated client portfolio, taking ownership of the full compliance process and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of your clients' affairs, becoming their main point of contact.
  • Identify potential issues and planning opportunities, discussing these with senior colleagues.
  • Contribute to consultancy and research projects as opportunities arise.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and apply it effectively in reviews.
  • Proactively identify internal training needs for yourself and the wider team.
  • Liaise with third-party professionals including solicitors, accountants, tax advisers, and financial advisers.
  • Develop people management and coaching skills.
  • Undertake other duties as required.

About you

We're looking for a motivated professional who demonstrates:

  • ATT qualification and, ideally, US tax certification (Enrolled Agent or CPA). CTA qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within professional practice.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex US and/or UK tax returns.
  • Excellent client service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of key tax legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Awareness of corporate tax and tax planning is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail.
  • High numeracy and confidence interpreting financial data.
  • Proficiency in relevant IT systems and tax software.

What We Offer

  • Global Exposure: Work with international clients and collaborate across EY's global network.
  • Career Progression: Lead high-impact projects and shape your professional journey.
  • Support & Coaching: Learn from industry leaders and receive ongoing mentoring.
  • Flexible Working: Hybrid model (minimum two days in the office) with a focus on work-life balance.
  • Total Rewards: Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and exclusive EY perks.
  • Inclusive Culture: A workplace where you belong, feel valued, and can thrive.
