The Role
The team..
In Group Tax, we have oversight across the whole of ITV. Our work is varied and interesting and we take pride in how we support the business - we deliver results and work as a team. Here, we are small enough that your impact's felt in the business, but big enough that your impact reaches millions of people.
The role..
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Tax Reporting and Compliance Analyst to join our dynamic and supportive Group Tax Function on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Group Tax Reporting and Compliance Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate, efficient, and consistent tax reporting across all areas of Group Tax Reporting.
While the role covers a wide range of tax activities, we don't expect you to know everything from day one. This is an ideal position for someone who wants to learn and develop in an in-house tax team.
This position may occasionally require travel within the UK along with flexibility in working hours to meet key deadlines.
Some of your key day to day responsibilities will include:
- Assist with group tax reporting activities for both year-end and interim periods, including liaising with overseas tax and finance teams.
- Support forecasting exercises related to the Effective Tax Rate (ETR) and overall cash tax positions.
- Assist with tax compliance tasks, data collection, and transformation for Country-by-Country Reporting; Pillar 2 Global Minimum Tax and other corporate tax compliance activities.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and update of key tax models, including those essential for year-end group reporting, deferred tax calculations, and interim financial forecasts. Support in the implementation of Pillar 2 compliance software.
- Manage and reconcile various tax balance movements on a monthly basis, proactively resolving discrepancies and collaborating with UK and overseas finance teams to maintain data accuracy.
- Perform and document tax controls. Aid in refining existing tax processes, and identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and leveraging tax technology where beneficial.
- Undertake ad hoc project work and other duties as required to support the wider Group Tax function.
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
- Relevant accounting or tax qualification or close to completion (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CTA, ATT).
- Experience in tax accounting and reporting (IFRS).
- Awareness of Pillar 2 global minimum tax.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data manipulation).
- An interest in tax technology, data and process improvement.
Other things we're looking for (key criteria)
- Experience with finance consolidation systems, particularly Oracle FCCS and Smartview, would be an advantage but not required.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Alteryx is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across different teams and geographical locations.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong ability to work collaboratively or independently.
Please note, on occasion we may receive a very large volume of applications which means applications for a role may close earlier than the referenced closing date. We'd encourage you to apply as soon as possible if interested.
