This brand-new Talent Leadership Development Manager role will own and oversee our proposition, ensuring we're firmly future focused and meeting the needs of the business.
In collaboration with the senior leaders across the HR Division at NFU Mutual, the Talent and Leadership Development Manager role is pivotal in designing and executing strategies for Talent and Leadership Development, leading the delivery of frameworks aligned to organisational strategy and divisional People Plans.
You will oversee a team of subject matter experts in Talent and Leadership and lead on the design and delivery of enterprise-wide frameworks, processes and resources that operationalise strategy to effectively and systematically attract, onboard, develop, engage, deploy and retain high performing employees, while providing analytics and data-driven insights to continuously improve these initiatives. With your team you'll provide expert guidance in identifying and addressing the growth needs of NFU Mutual's leaders at all levels. You'll lead on the design and delivery of leadership development solutions that align with the company's culture and business objectives, working to build a strong leadership community. Leveraging external thought leadership and innovative methods, you'll ensure the delivery of top-tier executive development options.
You'll use your expertise to develop strategic, scalable solutions, ensuring that talent pipelines remain robust and that employees at all levels engage in meaningful career development.
Key to successful delivery in this role will be driving enterprise-wide adoption of the strategy and frameworks and will involve leading the team to provide consultancy and strategic support to business partners, guiding them into effectively embedding talent and leadership frameworks. With your team of specialists, you will use insights from industry trends and emerging technologies to influence and foster a performance-driven culture that supports NFU Mutual's long-term strategic goals.
You'll also lead, manage, and develop your team, fostering an environment of growth and contribution towards our long-term talent goals.
This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 60% of your hours from home.

You're a commercially savvy strategic leader with a strong track record of influencing and engaging with senior stakeholders, you will drive talent strategies that align directly with business objectives. With a deep understanding of market dynamics and organisational priorities, you'll confidently engage with board and executive-level teams to shape and execute initiatives that foster growth, enhance performance, and build long-term organisational success.
Your exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities will ensure you navigate complex commercial landscapes, while managing multiple high-impact projects across cross-functional teams.

To join our team, you'll also have:
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and talent development roles at a senior level
- Experience of leading a team of subject matter experts
- Proven experience in overseeing the end-to-end Talent Management cycle in a large complex corporate organisation, preferably Financial Services. This will include planning to acquisition, onboarding, development, retention, and transition of talent.
- Expertise in strategic planning and management of Talent and Leadership development programmes at an organisational level.
- In-depth knowledge of leadership development principles and best practices, with the ability to align them with corporate culture and strategic objectives.
- Proven track record of managing and enhancing performance management frameworks and succession planning processes.
- Demonstrable experience in managing Executive coaching programs.
- Agility and adaptability to respond to emerging business needs while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Expertise in using data-driven insights for strategic talent planning and development.
- Strategic and commercial mindset with a focus on delivering value for customers and managing resources efficiently.
- Creating business clarity and alignment across complex teams and functions

Coaching / Mentoring qualification
Psychometric training including but not restricted to Insights, Clifton Strengths, Hogan, 360-degree feedback, and ESCI
CIPD qualification at level 5 or higher or equivalent
