We are seeking a Talent and Capability Director to lead our people experience strategy and position Royal London as a destination for diverse, high-performing talent.
As a key member of the People Leadership Team, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering a forward-thinking talent and capability strategy that supports our Purpose, aligns with our culture and values, and drives our strategic ambitions.
It is an exciting time to join Royal London as we continue to build out our in-house learning academy where colleagues will be able to access the latest learning content tailored to their specific career goals.
This is a high exposure and strategic leadership position where you will shape and influence the evolution of learning at Royal London, ensuring colleagues can advance their careers with us and we have the skills we need to deliver our Purpose and strategy.
About the role
- Talent Strategy - Develop and evolve a holistic talent strategy covering attraction, acquisition, development, and succession planning. Leverage Royal London's mutual status and brand to attract diverse talent across all levels.
- Capability Development - Define current and future capability needs and embed a continuous learning culture. Embed and champion our new expert in-house learning academy.
- Leadership Development - Shape and execute the Strategic Leadership Capability Model aligned to our Spirit of Royal London values. Deliver consistent and impactful leadership development experiences across the organisation.
- Culture & Engagement - Advance our cultural journey with a focus on customer centricity and colleague voice. Design and implement engagement strategies that provide deep insight into the colleague experience.
- Colleague Value Proposition - Embed our People Promise across the full colleague lifecycle.
- Diversity & Inclusion - Drive a cohesive inclusion strategy that informs our ambition to be a truly inclusive workplace.
About you
- Specialist knowledge of theory and practice leadership development, talent management, succession planning, and cultural change.
- Excellent communicator who can create partnerships and influence across all levels.
- Proven experience working within a leadership team and partnering with Executive Teams.
- Experience of implementing talent acquisition strategies aligned from early career to experienced hire and executive and non-executive recruitment.
- Practiced in implementing talent and succession planning, performance management and colleague engagement interventions.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
- CIPD or equivalent qualification.
- Financial services experience is desirable.
