Brief Description

We are seeking a Systems Support Manager to lead and direct system and database management processes within the Orpington Maintenance Delivery Unit and branching depots. The function will support multiple engineering disciplines including Track, Drainage, Signalling and Telecoms. The successful candidate will implement best practice with The Asset Data Management for Ellipse and Geogis Standard - ensuring process adherence and compliance concerning Network Rails infrastructure assets.

About the role (External)

Key Accountabilities

1. Manage, coordinate and validate the upgrade, update, maintenance and utilisation of all systems and databases within the delivery unit.

2. Provide direction and support including briefings on the use of systems and databases within the delivery unit.

3. Manage the collation of information from the delivery unit team and third parties such that systems and databases are updated to provide accurate information at all times.

4. Manage data quality within systems and databases to meet corporate requirements.

5. Manage the integrated risk management process. Maintain and update the Active Risk Manager Database.

6. Resolve issues that adversely affect the effective performance of systems and databases.

7. Monitor, audit and report on the accuracy, receipt and updating of data.

8. Provide information to support delivery of business plans and improvement initiatives and project works.

9. Provide analysis and management reports as required to support maintenance delivery. Make recommendations where management action is required.

10. Accurately update systems, databases and records as required including the Hazard Directory.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• Good time management

• Ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team

• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines & timescales defined by NR Standards

• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Expectations as an SSM

  • Analyse, correct and validate data anomalies for asset information and their cyclical Maintenance Schedule Tasks within Ellipse
  • Ensure asset data management requests (ADM) are processed and align with our data reporting and compliance standards
  • Champion the implementation of asset data management tools by providing end-user support to Planners and Section Managers
  • Support the Maintenance Delivery Unit (MDU) with project/renewals and cyclical maintenance schedules
  • Support multiple engineering disciplines including Track, Drainage, Signalling and Telecoms
  • Provide cross-functional support with depots and their service lines
  • Support the activity alignment with the Ellipse Annual Plan Submissions
  • Adhere to The Asset data management for Ellipse and Geogis standard NR/L3/AIF/003
