Morrison Water Services Ltd are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager. Working on our Scottish Water DV2 Framework working across a wide portfolio of projects. The role is based in our Stepps, Glasgow office reporting to the MWS Delivery Manager and will involve travel to sites as required.

T he UK's largest provider of essential infrastructure services through long-term framework agreements to the electricity, water, and gas sectors across the UK & Ireland.

Morrison Water Services is the largest division within MGS and works across the UK delivering water, wastewater, infrastructure, and non-infrastructure projects for a large proportion of the UK water industry.

The MWS Scotland region currently delivers a number of frameworks for Scottish Water including the Infrastructure Capital programme and the MEICA replacement operational alliance DV2 Lot 4 (this role). In addition, IDS deliver further specialist frameworks for Scottish Water as well for a portfolio of non-regulated clients. The business is currently at c. £130m p.a with further growth planned.

The DV2 Lot 4 MEICA replacement framework is a 6-year programme (2021-2027) with an option to extend for a further 6 years. The contract delivers a diverse range of design & construction projects (£100k - £4m) including the replacement of MEICA equipment, associated civil engineering works, specialist control & automation, SCADA and telemetry works. Annual volume £25m-£40m.

The Project Manager will be responsible for safe delivery of their Projects whilst achieving commercial expectations. A key part of the role will be establishing a strong relationship with Scottish Water, both at Project level and within the Framework.

You will be a key part of the MWS Management Teams, be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of Framework and support on key issues as they evolve.

This new position is a Scottish based role.

As the Systems Project Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Working within a multi-disciplinary team on projects, primarily in water & waste water. Managing a number of projects focussing on MCC/PLC and SCADA upgrades and migrations
• Accountable for MCC/SCADA/PLC project delivery and managing the project team.
• Accountable for MCC/SCADA/PLC project margins (gross)
• Participate in collaboration meetings with other engineering disciplines and professionals.
• Review of contracts & specifications.
• Procurement and support for subcontract procurement based on detailed specifications.
• Record and review all project information.
• Continual professional development including professional registration is encouraged and actively supported.

• Work closely with the PMO team to ensure delivery programmes are in place and progress is monitored.
• Drive Risk management for the Projects.
• Provide leadership and guidance on technical and contractual matters to ensure timely resolution.
• Preparing progress reports for the MWS senior leadership team

• Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties and support the long term MWS business plan.
• Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions.

Skills & Knowledge requirements:

• Experience in water industry would be advantageous with the ideal candidate having a background in MCC/SCADA installations
• Computer literate with a good understanding of appropriate software packages
• Knowledge and skills in the in the planning, specification, design procurement and commissioning of projects
• A good financial background in relation to projects
• A good Knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts
• Possess sound knowledge of current legislation and able to work in accordance with QA and H&S procedures
• Able to integrate well into a team as well as work independently
• Experienced level of decision making and ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands
• Strong communication skills all levels with the client, suppliers, contractors and design team
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Exceptional organisational skills
• Must be able to plan and prioritise work load effectively
• Excellent client service focus
