Salary: Base salary: £38,550pa to c.£45,350pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 15% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits - check them out in the Benefits section on our website.

As a Systems Manager Process & Governance at HS2 you will be responsible for driving simplification and standardisation of processes and improving compliance to processes and policies across the Systems and Tools function and user groups. This role will maintain inventory of processes, run regular process reviews to continuously improve them and track and implement process related changes and modifications in line with agreed process governance.

About the role:

  • Assist Head of Systems and Tools with developing and rolling-out a consistent set of processes for managing, supporting and developing Systems, Tools and Data Platforms
  • Work closely with Systems Managers to ensure documented processes and how-to-guides are in place for user onboarding/offboarding, accessing system support, systems change management, and other relevant documentation that enables efficient Systems support and improves end user experience.
  • Develop and implement training and communication strategies for training-out users and updating stakeholders on process governance standards and change management processes.
  • Lead projects related to process mapping, improvement and transformation to ensure all processes remain fit for purpose as business requirements evolve.
  • Develop and implement appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure compliance to processes and set-up governance to review process performance.
  • Ensure systems related processes are correctly implemented in ServiceNow and issues are efficiently routed to appropriate resolver groups as soon as possible and resolved within agreed SLAs/OLAs.
  • Maintain ServiceNow dashboard for Systems and Tools and review and analyse systems related data. Work with systems managers to identify root causes of recurring issues and implement permanent fixes.
  • Solicit feedback from key business users and identify system and process related improvements in order to improve end user experience and efficiency.
  • Support wider systems team by leading resolution of complex technical issues in a structured manner.
  • Provide data, reports and analysis to support root cause analysis, audit and compliance activities and identify trends, issues and solutions.
  • Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

About You:

Skills:

  • Process mapping and process optimisation skills.
  • Ability to facilitate process development workshops.
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder groups in a matrix organisation.
  • Ability to use a structured approach to problem solving.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and understanding of process architecture and process governance principles.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement and Lean methodology.
  • Knowledge of the core Project Controls disciplines, including; Schedule Management, Cost Management, Change Management and Risk Management and how they interrelate.

Type of Experience:

  • Experience of implementing change control and process governance arrangements in the context of IT systems.
  • Experience of managing and providing end user support and training on enterprise data (or similar) systems.
  • Experience of working within information systems domain as a part of a large infrastructure and/or delivery organisation/programme.
  • Experience of managing IT systems and processes in a major project / programme context.
