Our growing team operates across the cloud and infrastructure technologies domains. We’re expanding our engineering capability and are looking for people who understand Microsoft Technologies in real depth. 

The role is focused on specific projects and delivering outcomes, which will change regularly. This is not an operations role – you will see a wide range of challenges over time, every project is different. Innovation is at the heart of all we do, which is why you will be utilising various open-source and proprietary technologies. 

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time. 

Your role

As a Microsoft Technologies SME within Capgemini’s vibrant cloud platform team, you will have a pivotal role in the following types of projects: 

  • Migrating Workloads to Cloud – working as part of a team to migrate application workloads to public cloud, taking end-to-end responsibility for the Windows workloads  
  • Platform Modernisation – helping clients embrace modern solutions leveraging Microsoft technologies, moving away from complex and expensive legacy systems. 
  • Public Cloud Deployment – working with a DevOps or SRE squad, providing expertise across all Windows domains, often including modern application hosting solutions such as Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). 
  • Optimising Windows Platforms – helping to improve resilience, availability, monitoring, automation and security, often in public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), using Bicep, PowerShell, Terraform and other commercial and cloud platform tools & services.

Your skills and experience

If you understand the difference modern technologies have on the market and want to develop your cloud skills further, then this role could be right for you. So, what kind of skills and qualities are we looking for? 

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems and Windows ecosystem, including high availability & clustering deployment patterns, knowledge of server hardware (Rack and Blade) from vendors such as HP, DELL, or IBM. 
  • OS & software lifecycle management (Evergreen upgrades of Windows Server, Server Hardware, and other significant changes). 
  • Security & Compliance (Anti-Virus, firewall, disk and removable storage encryption, data protection). 
  • System management, remote control, inventory, and updates through SCCM on-premise and cloud services. 
  • Design and document Active Directory, DNS, GPOs, File & Print, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in one or more public cloud platforms and a good all-round, knowledge of infrastructure technologies (compute, storage, networks, data, security) and demonstrate and provide evidence of the ability to interact with team members and clients, develop documentation effectively, and present themselves professionally.

Your security clearance

Security Check (SC) Clearance
To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) Clearance
To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship in the application process.
